On Friday night before bed, I noticed a slight rash on my upper arms. Then I took a Benadryl. Then about an hour after I got up I started breaking out again. This time on my arms and legs. The skin breakout went away in a couple of hours and I didn't take any Benadryl. That night the rash came back on my arms and legs and in a matter of 10 minutes the arms and legs were covered. I took two Benadryl, went to bed, and the next morning the skin rash was gone. Several hours after being up, I broke out again on my arms, legs, and this time around my waist. A couple of hours later all was gone. Now it is back only on arms and a little on my legs. What is it? On Wednesday I had taken the flu shot. Why is it coming and going?

Reappearing Skin Rash on Arms and Legs
by Sara (California)
Well it started yesterday for the first time. I had gotten a rash a while ago after having a viral infection. The doctor said it was normal to get a rash on a person's trunk after they had a viral infection.
I was messing around on metal bars at the high school yesterday and they were very old and the paint is chipping on them. After about 45 minutes, I was really itchy and noticed a rash on the back of my legs (behind my knees and sort of on my calves). It was also spreading on my wrists. I showed my mom and she told me to take a shower. We thought maybe it was from an exposure to lead or something. After I showered, it went away only to experience a rash on arms worse that before and on my hands.
I talked to my mom this morning and the arm rash was gone and literally not long after I got off the phone with her it reappeared more on my hands and arms, worse than before and more itchy and it also appeared on the bottom of my legs like my ankles and a little on my knees. My skin was tingly and itchy. The rash keeps going away and reappearing. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Please help. I am not really concerned but I would like to know what this mysterious rash is.
