I was just diagnosed today with itchy red bumps on skin. It has only been about 5 weeks and this red bumpy rash is so uncomfortable. I know very little, yet I know I have to make my peace with the situation because it appears it might be around for a while. It is funny, but one of the things that irritates me is that my watch is driving me crazy now. Apparently, it's too much pressure on my skin.
I have never had hives or this itchy red bumps on skin before until I began experiencing
these red areas and raised welts. Some of the marks were long red lines. They
itch and burn. Sometimes I will feel an area begin to burn and I know that
something is going to show up there.
After about two weeks of trying over the counter anything for itching and
burning skin, I went to the doctor. He asked a few questions and began
treatment by trying out the steroids for hives. I am in the middle of my second
round of those. I saw him today and there is no change in the hives. He
mentioned dermatagraphism. He drew his thumb nail down my forearm and in just
minutes I had that long red welt I know so well. And so it begins.

My husband and I had a terrible argument the night before. The next day I woke up and went in the restroom, looked in the mirror, and saw a face full of red bumps. It has been two days now and the itchy red bumps are still all over my face. As a treatment for this skin problem, I have been applying plain yogurt to my face which helps to soothe and keep my face soft and moist. For the treatment of the itch, I have been applying 1% hydrocortisone/aloe cream. I have been praying that this will soon leave my face. I cannot go to the doctor for professional advice and treatment since I cannot afford the medical insurance from Cobra.

I have the same itchy red bumps on skin condition. My doctor prescribed Ebastine 10mg in the mornings and Hydroxyzine before I go to bed. They make all the bumps go away. If you are in the USA you can buy it no problem at the drugstore. Try to see a doctor before you take anything.

I am so itchy that it is really driving me crazy. I
have these raised itchy red bumps on skin of my wrists/elbows, arms and legs. These
itchy bumps started off looking like bed bug or mosquito bites and then after
scratching them they now have a scab on them all. I always feel or get the
sensation that something is moving around in my skin. The feeling is just like
a bug that is living under my skin.
I have checked the bed for the presence of any bed bugs and there are none
around. I have also looked around a lot for any other biting bugs but
unfortunately I cannot find anything that may be causing this.
I have never been this itchy in my life. In fact, even my head is itchy. When
the itchy bumps first come on they almost look like small welts/hives/or small
mosquito bites or something similar to these types of skin conditions. They
will appear for no reason, which makes it really frustrating. I could be
sitting watching television and then boom an itch comes over me like you would
not believe.
As of now, most of the itchy red bumps on skin have scabs on them and if I scratch
them off they bleed horribly. I keep rubbing alcohol on them to prevent any
infections or other types of complications. One other thing that is important
to note is that I am a Type 2 diabetic and therefore I am worried that
something is terribly wrong with my overall health condition.
Can anyone help me? Any information that anyone reading my post can provide
would be so appreciated.

A raised itchy red bumps on skin rash can possibly be treated with the acupuncture technique or cupping method. Personally, I have a story just like yours in many respects. I will start cupping and acupuncture treatments next week. I really believe that the cause of this skin disease is a high level of toxins in the body trying to find a way out. Another sufferer of this disease that I know also feels the same way. Although doctors have told me that cupping will not help at all, I will give it a try anyways to see if there will be any improvement. In many ways, I think I am much more informed about my disease than any doctor in the world that does not have dermographism skin problem. A few sufferers or this red itchy bumps on skin rash have tried acupuncture and have experienced great improvement. Many doctors are not even aware of this skin conditions and they have never heard of it, let alone be equipped to treat it.
The thing that bothers me the most about this hives disease is not the welts or other physical skin changes, but rather the pain that makes me dysfunctional at times. My skin can welt all it wants, at this point, I do not care. I just want to be able to sleep at night restfully and to stop loosing hair. By the way, one symptom I have that you did not mention is losing a lot of hair. I lose hair from the head the most, not so much the beard though. Hair sheds from the follicles like crazy. I am going nuts! Anyway, I hope some of my comments are helpful to others that have this same skin condition.

I have had extremely similar raised rash symptoms for at least seven years now. The rash problem is completely controlled by Zyrtec (if I'm not mistaken, that is the marketing name in the US for Cetirizine Hydrochloride) but the itchy red bumps on skin rash returns the instant Zyrtec fully clears my system (about 18 hours). So I need to be on the Zyrtec all the time.
I have not tried any alternative raised itchy rash treatments, because I am finding the daily pill to be minimally intrusive and effective.
